Hey I made a partition on my laptop for windows 7, and downloaded the ISO, and was gonna burn the dvd and install 7 on the partition. I used IMGburn or some program with almost that exact same name to burn the ISO. So i put in a blank dvd let it burns everything just fine and quickly and nice and quiet-running, but when it's "finalizing" the disc at 99%, the drive spins so loudly (almost like grinding of off balance) it's like weird, n it sounds kinda loud etc. Then the burn ends up failing every single time at 99% when doing this. It retries several times before giving up. Due to this I dunno what to do to burn the ISO onto a dvd. I'm using a dual layer dvd but i dont think that'd affect it cuz it's a dual layer burner. I tried to burn it at 8x, but it still messed up during finalizing.
I've burned cd's before just fine, and the drive plays dvd movies etc just fine as well. So at this point I dunno if the software is jacked up, or if the drive itself is bad (due to the noise it made perhaps being the reason it failed to finalize the disc?)
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this when burning a dvd on this or any computer? If so, thoughts or suggestions?

Well I guess i figured out a solution for installing windows 7 w/o having to use a partition, but still annoyed my dvd burner wouldn't work. Has anyone ever heard their dvd burner make this noise when burning but ONLY when the disc is finalizing? During the burning it was quiet/normal, but during finalizing it was noisy almost like the disc was spinning off balance or something like a washing machine that was off balance, which to me didn't make sense.
Should i try burning a different file from a different program like a cd or normal video dvd or something to ensure it wasn't just a weird issue w/ burning an ISO file?
