Is there an equalizer available so I could boost the volume?
I find some YouTube videos are pretty hard to hear, even with all volumes on max.

Open WMP, click Now Playing, under Enhancements click Graphic Equalizer.
Guess, it's what you are looking for... -
Thanks martee. I'm looking for a sort of general volume equalizer. With my old laptop I had a Realtek sound device which came with an equalizer that would allow me to increase the volume by pumping up the equalizer. This was good for youtube videos which can be encoded at low volumes.
Unfortunately I can't find the general equalizer for my SigmaTel sound device. -
Nonamebrand,
Yea, you're right. But did you try make adjustments in sound management?
I have SigmaTel driver, but I think adjustments are the same with Realtek
driver.
Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound, when under the
Playback tab mark Speakers/Headphones, click Properties. In General
window at the bottom in Device Usage set it to Enabled.
Next Click Levels and make sure the PC Speaker volume is at the max, the
Speakers level at the top leave as it is, you can adjust it later.
Then click Enhancements and try to play around there, however, sometimes
it's better to leave them all disabled.
Next click Advanced and check both Exclusive Modes. You can try to set
the Default Format when you are there. For me the 16bit,48000Hz (DVD
Quality) sounds best.
