Is this woth the $799 they have it for at the actual stores ?

I do not need a gaming laptop.

Just want to do casual development and normal itunes stuff.

Also, has Gateway started to get better ?

Way back in the day (man I am old :) ) they used to be awesome.

    Then they declined.

What is the latest on them ?

I did like the design of this, easy to replace HD & memory and DVD drive....

    Thoughts ?

I had a much longer reply typed out but then the server didn't respond so I'm starting over:

According to the 10\9 Costco coupon book, they have $100 off an A305 series Toshiba. I don't know which Toshiba that is, but if it's this one

    Costco link to Toshiba

Then it's pretty similiar to that Gateway, same price after $100, lacking a fingerprint reader, but it does include an FM tuner (huh? why?) but more importantly a much better video card if you plan on doing some casual gaming.

Why not go for a Studio 15 from the Dell outlet? Previously ordered new = never turned on by the person that ordered it. You can find some with a nice lid, 3gb ram, 2.0ghz intel core 2 duo, webcam, fingerprint reader, and backlit keyboard for $660 if you look around. :)

I take back my previous statement regarding the Toshiba - it looks like they're putting a cheaper Toshiba on sale. Not similar specs.

The Dell Outlet isn't a bad idea. Currently a coupon for an additional 15% off as well - 8CMQQWB$WTGNVP
