Anyone here tried using the DDR2-533Mhz with the M460XL? It comes with DDR2-400 now.

Also how good is this machine. It doesn't look too bad. Better looking than the Dell D800 model or Insprion I6000.

yeah, i was also wondering about this system... it seems like it is an incredible deal, yet no one is talking about it... (?)
anyone know or have any experience with the m460? i'd really like to hear some feedback from actual users if at all possible.

After hours of researching i finally decided to buy this notebook. I customized my M460XL to have 1 gig of ram, the X600 128Mb card, and a primary 12 cell. The battery life is very good and it is really light. It runs slightly warm, but thats normal. This is my first laptop so I was slighlty scared, after consulting a friend who has had 2 laptops I was at ease. He told me that it actually runs cooler than his, which made me happy. I have played Counterstrike source (while on battery) with 11 bots and max resolution, it ran great. I played for about an hour and a half and i still had around 42% battery. Its a great machine for its value!

thanks for the report! i really want this laptop based on its specs, so i really wanted to hear from someone who'd sat down and put it through the ringer a bit.

how would you rate its screen performance? i know that it's not the new glossy type (like on sony, toshiba, etc.), but i'm hoping it's still a top notch display.

I was hoping to get the glossy screen too. But it is still really clear, it can be really bright when plugged in to the wall. BUt on battery the brightness is perfect. The hinges seem powerful and the 15.4 widescreen is more than enough. I really recommend the laptop. The only problem was that it came with service pack 2. We all know that ,microsoft can make some crapy updates. I would get the bluescreen alot so i just reformated, and that got rid of AOL, Norton, and McAffe which were all trial software anyway. But its perfromance is amazing!!!
