    Hi,

my M675X (with a ATi Radeon 9700 64mb) runs at idle 65c. Is that normal? I use Everest to monitor my gpu temperature and usually it was around 55c. Since this morning; it idles at 64-65c...why would it gain 10c all of a sudden??

    Thanks for the help!:gateway:

(when I say 65c; it means 65 celcius!! ...just to be very clear!!)

Don't know about notebooks, but I build my own desktops and something as simple as dust and dirt buildup can cause an unexpected rise in temperature. I had an Athlon 64 3400+ that usually ran about 38C idle that suddenly jumped up to 77C one day setting off all kinds of alarms. Blew out my comp and the CPU heatsink and it went right back to normal.

I cleaned the fans Sunday...I'll try some thermal compound between the video card's fan & heatsink; maybe it'll help reducing the heat!!??

    Thanks for the input!
