    M680 17" Screen only 18-bit color depth?

    I went on Gateway's site to check out the new M680XL. And lo and behold, the 'complete specs' link pops up a window where the video spec says that the color depth of the lcd is only 18-bits (262K colors).

    What a shame!!

    If a company doesn't list the specs, it might be even less than that. It's an unfortunate limitation of current LCDs, but then again that is quite a lot of colors.
