Alright, I was on my laptop last night and shut it down before bed. I woke up today and laptop wouldn't boot. I did some diagnosis and here is what I have managed to figure out so far.

    1. When I turn the power on, I can hear the Hard drive kick on and spin, it seems idle (not reading), the power button lights up, but nothing else happens. The CPU/VGA fan doesn't turn on. The screen stays completely off at all times.

    2. If I close the lid, the fan turns on, but the hard drive still seems to be sitting idle.

    3. If I open the lid back up, the fan instantly shuts back off, but the HDD continues to spin.

    4. I cannot get it to display via VGA or HDMI output either. Lid open/closed doesn't affect this, it just won't output a video signal.

    5. I have tried all combinations of battery/AC adapter and none of them do anything.

The laptop was set to sleep if the lid is closed on battery, and to do nothing (except turn off screen) when it is on AC power. AC/Battery power doesn't affect what the fan/HDD is doing.

Any clue what could possibly be the problem?

Is there a way to hard reset the BIOS/Mobo? (jumper? battery?)

Thanks for any and all help.

probably better to send it in for repair if you have warranty on it.
