Argh, just like in another thread I saw here. I formatted my MX6131's HD, and got rid of my recovery partition without backing up...

Now, I've gotten some things working so far, all that's left are the drivers for the 802.11g and the sound card.

The drivers on support.gateway.com don't even work, so I've gone to the individual vendors, and downloaded drivers from those sites. Using Everest to get the specs for the hardware.

    Can anyone help me out?

    Realtek AC'97 Drivers:
    Direct Download (for Windows XP)

    All Drivers and Utilities

I will try to find the wireless one now.

    Edit:
    BEFORE you download:
What is your audio card? If it is AC'97, go ahead and download. If it isn't, do not download.

What is your wireless card while we're at it?

According to Everest, the sound card's a Conexant Cx20468.

Also says it's a AC97 Audio Controller, so should I download these RealTek drivers?

And the Wireless is listed as "Broadcom 802.11g Wireless Controller." Doesn't give me a specific model number or anything though.

My modem also doesn't work, and it's listed as a PCI modem. I was looking at http://www.conexant.com/products/entry.jsp?id=159 and I'm thinking the Cx20468 is a modem/sound card. But I can't find drivers anywhere.

    Thanks in advance.

Found the wireless drivers. Got them from Gateway, making Gateway only have 2 of the correct drivers for this notebook. The other being the card reader.

Got the Wireless drivers from here: http://support.gateway.com/support/...s LAN DriverVersion: 3.100.64.1&uid=113551794

This was really annoying to figure out, But I'm finally done. I'm thinking I should post my results for the drivers for the MX6131, since it's been on sale at Best Buy for the past week. So I'm sure it'd be a handy reference. Unless that's against the rules or something.
