The laptop's HD crashed, had to replace it. Thus, I redownloaded Windows XP (Home Edition) for it. Well, come to find out that I can only hear system sounds. No other sounds work and in the Sounds & Accessories it'll say 'No device' bit. I try to download the driver that gateway lists for this model but all I get is a 'Failure' message.

Anyone that could help fix this? It'd be GREATLY appreciated. I am pulling out my hair and spent countless hours attempting to figure out this problem.

And no, gateway tech support did not help in the least.
