I have tried to install the 3945ABG driver from Intel's site and Gateway's site several times. I have tried installing the full software package from Intel and the "drivers only" package. I am getting a message saying, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

    Any ideas?

UPDATE: Under "Driver Details", my machine is trying to use a file "NETw3x32.sys" for the wireless card. My machine at work has the Intel 3945ABG and it uses a file called "w39n51.sys"

UPDATE: I googled "w39n51.sys" and it took me to someone's personal site that contained w39n51.sys, w39n51.inf and another .dll file that went with them to give me the complete working set. I was on chat with Gateway's techs for over an hour and the closest they could get me to a solution was to send me a link to gateway's driver download page... idiots...

Kill the previous driver completely,is the wifi turned on in the process ?
What brought you to reinstalling the drivers in the first place.

I have it working now with an older version of the 3945ABG driver from intel. I believe its version 10.1.00.11 or something like that. I also formatted again & re-installed with another XP disc w/out SP2, installed the driver, then applied SP2 and all seems to be good.

I was re-installing the drivers because I re-installed Windows XP
