I just picked up the MX7515 last night and immediately wiped out the factory load and recovery partition. This frigging model isn't listed on the Gateway site. I've tried all the different 7000 series drivers, but can't seem to figure out what the wireless card or the audio card are. Could someone please look in device manager and let me know what the manufacturers and models of the wireless NIC and audio card are?
Also, any idea why this isn't listed on the Gateway site? Is this model exclusive to Best Buy and therefore not supported directly by gateway or something?

If you can hook it up through the ethernet port, could try Windows Update. The one sold at BestBuy and elsewhere are a different breed. Did they not give you a driver disc?
-
I've tried windows update and it doesn't find anything. It didn't come w/ a driver disc, either. It came with a recovery CD that appears to have the WinXP home core OS on it. The recovery CD uses the 2GB recovery partition (which I intentionally wiped out) to recover all applications and drivers. I assume it works that way anyway.

How about something like Everest? Maybe it will tell you what it is.

I was looking for something exactly like Everest last night. I'd never heard of that before. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Most of the drivers for the 7510GX will work for the MX7515.
You can find all the drivers on my site. Look at signature below. -
I actually found that link in your sig last night and got everything up and running just great. I had tried some of the 7510GX drivers from from the Gateway site, but they weren't working... dunno. It's all set now and I'm loving it. Thanks!

Would you send me the Broadcom WiFi drivers?...Optendo's site is down... ;o(
I bought mine in BestBuy....it seems that BestBuy's have different components. -
Gateway makes models for their website and then they have Retail models, most of which are made exclusively for Best Buy. People dont seem to realize that this is why there isnt a whole lot on they notebooks on gateways site, but its still no excuse for it.
-
I just got this laptop too, and the recovery disk didnt load up any drivers or software that it was supposed to. If anyone could send me the drivers or point me to a working site it would be very much appreciated.
(I tried out a couple games on it before I reformatted and am impatiently waiting to play some more!) -
This site has them, but it is down right now.
