My goal is to get a 64 bit Linux OS running on the lapdog and mess with stuff that I would usually run on the beowulf clusters at work.

My first attempt was a failure. I tried FC4 x86-64 I got bug errors right before the install was started to read from CDs. I should've jotted the errors down but forgot.

Next attempt will probably be gentoo...

I got suse 10 to install with no minimum issues. The only problems I have so far are wireless and sound. Doing some searching but it seems that there are workarounds.

I am currently running FC4 32bit and Server 2003 on MX645. Sound, Wirelsess, 3d ati proprietery drivers working great. Full 3d acceleration. The Yukon nic does not work overall its working good under FC4. No crashes.
