1)I notice some weird noises coming from it. Everytime when I run something, a low "boom" sound like a vaccum comes up some "dic dic dic" sounds also, is this normal? The dic sounds seem to be coming from my HD while the vaccum sounds seem to be my fan.

    2) I got a HTS541010G9AT00 HD, is that a 5400RPM HD?

    3) What is the brand name for the GCA-4080N?

    4) Is there a way to uninstall AOL completely? I uninstalled everything AOL in the ADD/REMOVE software but it's still there on my taskbar.

The 'ticking' noises - are those coming from your hard drive or you can't tell?

I'd look in the fan to see if there is anything lodged in there.

The 'dic'ing noises is most likely coming from your hard drive. Try watching the hard drive light as you hear the sound (its the cylinder). My MX7515 does this, also. My old centrino would make a horrible high pitched noise (but with the same loudness as this drive) unless I had the power saving setting to "Max Battery"

AOL is like a virus... I ended up formatting. Be sure to burn yourself a new driver CD before you format! The MX7515 does not come with any drivers. Someone was nice enough to post them on the internet though! (actually the 7510gx drivers, but they're the same)

There should be something in under "All Programs" that does it. If you already blew away your install I don't think it will be there any more. When I rebuilt from the recovery (and driver) CD it wasn't there anymore.

I want to do a clean WindowsXP install, do I just insert the installation cd then install XP Pro and then run the driver cd?
