    Hi,

I'm noticing that once in a while the brightness of the screen on my MX7515 will flicker like someone is rapidly changing the brightness up and down.

Usually it goes back to the original brightness - but sometimes it will stay darker...

Is this a problem with the hinges? (adjusting the lid back and forth seems to make the problem go away but not always) or is it a power problem with the display adapter?

    Any one here experience this?

Yeah, I've experienced this. My solution is to lower the brightness setting one.
I don't think that it is related to the hinges.

This is a manufacturing defect inherent to the line.

The connections to the inverter in the LCD panel are loose. I experienced this once before and took my laptop back and had it replaced (I have the extended warranty on it).

If that's not an option for you, this site details how to manually repair the problem.

    Thank you Pulp.

I guess I will live with it for now.

I just did the manual repair after dealing with it for awhile and having the flicker spread to all brightness levels. So far so good. I will report back if the flicker comes back. :)
