    hello i recently purchased a Gateway MX7525 and used the system restore DVD included which only installs Windows Media Center 2005 w/ SP2 and i am too lazy to use the new dvd restore which includes drivers gateway support has sent me. I was wondering if there is a driver for:

    - monitor which says default, default, plug n play
    - keyboard which only says standard

    also i would like to use this machine for gaming and i only have the ATI driver from gateway support which is 8.15. The ATI integrated display driver suite 7.1 does not install which is 8.33 with an error about maybe retrying setup with standard vga driver?

    lastly i partitioned the drive with partition magic 20gb and 80 gb and was wondering if this would slow down seek time when gaming? or should i make the 20 GB which has the OS on it bigger and store the games in there instead of the storage "drive" 80 gb

    thanks =)

    u can try to un.install all current graphic driver , use driverCleaner Pro to clean up. let XP set up the system as normal VGA and then use
    ati graphic driver for x600:
    http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/mobility-xp.html

    ONE (solo) hard drive partitions are mostly for me to separate data and system apps for back.up - accessing different partitions on the same hard drive would not speed up anything

    cheers ...

    thanks, i got the omega drivers instead, was browsing through that huge 60+ page thread about the xpress 200M. now i jus gotta snoop around for a CPU & HD temp monitoring tool.

    edit:
    wanted to ask another question and since this post is about driver inquiry i jus wanted to know if these two drivers are the same

    gateway has this "Gateway AMD CPU Power Now Driver Version: 1.1.0.18"
    http://support.gateway.com/support/...er Now Driver Version: 1.1.0.18&uid=147447079

    and the official amd website has "Mobile AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (x86 and x64 exe) 1.3.2.16"
