Hello, this is the first time ive been on this forum but I heard I can get some answers from you all. Basically I just bought the MX7525 and I have Comcast High Speed Internet at home hooked up to a Linksys wireless router. I want to use my Laptops wireless internet card with this system and it says its linking up to the system yet its not connecting, like when I try to open up Internet Explorer it says page cannot be displayed and I already tried the repair icon and it gets stuck on IP address *cannot get an IP address*, ive already reset the laptop, ive reset the router and modem. I have no idea what to do now. If anyone has any answers please tell me. Thanks in advance. :D

Check if your router uses a security key to enable wireless connections....some of them have a sticker at the botton with that key. When your laptop tries to connect, the wizzard should prompt for that key and then enable your connection and browsing....you can check that on your network settings.

It really sounds like a router problem to me. You may want to try going to a place with free wireless to test you computer.

    I agree,
theres nothing wrong with your laptop. Its simply a configuaration error/problem. Here is a great place to discus your problem.

Hi, this is my first time posting and I am a new notebook owner as well. I bought the MX7525 from BB three weeks ago and I love it. I also have Comcast High Speed Internet. This morning I hooked up to a Linksys Wireless-G router and ran into a similar problem. The router’s setup wizard asked for the IP address because it seems that the Comcast modem was unable to communicate correctly with the new device as instructed by the wizard. If it was communicating correctly it would not have asked for the IP address.

I unplugged the modem and the router from the power source and waited about 30 to 45 seconds. Then I plugged in the modem and waited for the top four blinking lights to become solid lights. Then I plugged in the router’s power adapter and tried the wizard again. I think it was Step 7 that had originally needed IP information and now that step was replaced by a new page that was completed by the correct communication and automatically read DHCP in the router setting box.

I was still unable to connect successfully by using the wizard so I checked in with Comcast’s tech support. They were really helpful and I was wireless in about two minutes. They took me to the control panel to check network connections. They had me connect to the internet and then unplug the cable from my computer and it worked. If you have any problems, call Comcast, they have been very helpful for me.

Enjoy and have fun with your new notebook.
