Simply put, how well do you think the M-6850FX will run Medieval 2 Total War? I'm looking to buy a laptop that can play this game moderately well (as well as some older games), with all the settings I consider fluff off i.e. grass off, dust off, unit detail down a level or two, terrain detail down a level or two, etc. I keep reading customer reviews about how they can play Assassin's Creed and Bioshock well with the M-6850FX but Med2 is a CPU-intensive game, so I really don't know with a 1.83GHz processor. And will the presence of Vista Home Premium make it even slower? Thanks.

My first post by the way, long time viewer but I only just decided to join.

should be okay if you turn the settings low enough, T5550 isn't that bad at all

Thanks. I'll look into buying a new processor, if not now then a few months down the road.

I would suggest getting the M-152XL instead of the 6850...would save you upgrading the processor trouble and they are similar prices

Yeah I know but Gateway doesn't ship to Canada...it's truly saddening. It'd save me some 300 odd dollars.
