I have a P-6860FX with a T9300 and a 8800m gts and I'm interested in Metro 2033. There's no demo so I'd like to know what performance I would be expecting.

i get horrible performance on very high settings (single digits frames per second)
on low settings i get playable between 20-30 frames per second. this game is supposed to have an engine that scales to your computer specs but it does not run too well on my laptop. I can play this game on my desktop at a good 30 fps avg but thats with a gtx 260 and 8800gt for physx on only high settings.(cant even do very high on those cards... pathetic) i figure this is one of those games that really needs a quad core but the numbers ive seen so far show this game runs kinda bad on everything.

for some reason the game only has preset graphical settings which is really stupid because not only are there setting that can cause massive performance drops but if your like me you dont like all the next gen "effects"
For example i cannot stand motion blur or film grain so i always turn these off but this game had a moron programming the graphical settings portion and decided to be lazy and only program in 4 different settings. Low, Medium, High and very high.

Ive only played a little of the game but it does seem like a good game its a shame the performance isnt too good.

after much tweaking and messing with config files and the nvidia control panel i was able to achieve a solid 30fps on medium settings with my native res (1440x900)

on my desktop it runs a good solid 30 fps also at 1080p with the advanced physics on (dunno if thats physx?)

god of war 3 kinda took over right now so i havent played any further into that game but performance now seems to be enjoyable.

The game runs like crap in high mode for me and we have identical setups...once put in Normal it plays much more smoothly except for a few areas... I am also tweaking the config files to get the best performance with minimal tradeoffs

You have to do alot of tweaking in the user.cfg to get 30fps performance on high, but once the fight scenes come about it hits the and fails.

Not going to lie, BF:BC2 looks about the graphics quality and 10x better performance. Pretty sure this is a spoof to make people get better computers/upgrade parts.
