The manual says it has it...A T-series that I bought for a friend has it, but the 7811 does not have it. Is it supose to be missing.
Also, my mute button makes a loud clicking noise (one the first click, then goes normal, but wait a couple of mins, the first click is loud again), louder then the rest of the buttons, it seems that the two halfs are rubbing against each other. Should I worry?
I have about a week left on my return policy, and thankfully I don't have any of the major issues such as ghosting, buzzing power brick, or freezing during a couple mins of gaming. I do have the pulsing fan, but It seems to be normal.

which volume button are you talking about? the one on the page up button?
Also, i don't have a "cd" light. I have a HD active lite, a wifi light, and a lock light of some sort... -

Sorry, I ment the MUTE button.
The lock lights are for caps and num lock -

I wouldn't worry about it personally, i'm not experiencing the problem but i wouldn't be too concerned considering you're not experiencing any of the more major problems.... but it's up to you if you want to return or not. -

Not that it bothers me that much but I'm very interested as to why theres no CD indicator light on the 7811's. It's not like the other lights are repositioned evenly in it's absence either, the spot where its supposed to be is just blank. wireless, caps lock, num lock, blank, hdd access lights are there in that order from left to right.

Don`t worry mines do that sound too, the first time i though have broken it lol, the cd light is inside the drive bay, a little weird , but its there

We're talking about the activity light that's supposed to be under the touchpad, between the num pad light and the HDD activity light. It's there on all (I think) other gateway laptops, and it says its there in the 7811's manual, but its not.

Missing CD Activity light on 7811?
