My HDD died a few days ago and I got it replaced. I installed Win 7 Ultimate again but this time I don't have my option for WHAT U Hear. The audio drivers of course came via Microsoft. So I un-installed them and got the audio drivers for VISTA from the gateway site. The only drivers I saw available. They didn't work as well. They are back to the updated drivers.

This is totally bothering me now. I had it before and now it's not there. I will reinstall Win 7 again today to try it out. Can someone check to see for this WHAT U HEAR option and let me know what audio drivers you have or where you obtained them?

I used this feature quite a bit. Sometimes I feel like I'm going insane and think that I didn't have that option on the laptop and I confuse it with other Win 7 machines I have. Please help return my sanity.

If you don't know how to check for that option I speak of, do this. To check, right click on the sound icon next to clock and select Recording Devices. In the white space of that panel Right Click and check Show Disabled Devices. That will show the WHAT U HEAR feature. I'm attaching a photo from another machine for example.
    I hope someone can help.
