Yeah I actually use it, unable to get any type of high speed where I live. I finally got my FFXI update (from an internet cafe) but now every time I try to play I R0 (connection stops working) every like 10-15 minutes for like 15 seconds and it's getting highly annoying and very hard to play an online game with. Anyone have any idea *** is going on? I disabled like all the automatic updates so nothing is being DL'ed... I think. But if this continues I won't really be able to play the game I want -.-

Who is your ISP? Do you have other connection problems? Are you able to complete large file downloads? Any problems surfing the web or streaming audio?

A modem is pretty much a works great/doesn't work at all type of thing. The technology is super mature. It's pretty much as good as it will ever get at this point. Frankly any dial up connection is going to give a lousy MMORPG experience at best.

My ISP is a local place called Sabernet. I can DL large files as this doesn't disconnect me just skips for a few seconds then works again. And as far as using dialup for MMOs I never had any problems with my connection skipping on my desktop.

I realized I set the max port speed down to like 1/4 of what it was originally (when setting up my connection i kept getting errors so i was messing with settings... turned out my password was wrong) i also disabled the time sync, but I don't think that was it since it said the next sync was next month... but we'll see how things go from there
