    I have a Gateway P7811FX

About a month ago my screen started doing some weird stuff. When it's black there is some like static running through the screen. As long as something is being displayed, then the screen seems normal. So it is a bit like something I can live with except it seems like it's getting worse.

And in some programs, like Adobe Lightroom 2, where much of the screen is black, it's is a big problem. It is getting to the point where those programs are unusable.

I have tried updating drivers, but that does not seem to help or hinder.

Is anyone familiar with this? I have a warranty with Best Buy, but they say it will be like 3 weeks to get it back. This is some serious hardship...

    Help?

    Thanks,

    Javaslinger

I believe it was discovered that the connector between the screen and the mobo can actually come loose. You might have to try reseating it. It has worked for other people. I'm not sure if that is your issue, but it seems like you are describing the same tearing that they suffered
