So recently I noticed my computer will no longer go to sleep. The monitor will turn off when I tell it to sleep (via fn+f3, power button or closing the lid. However it won't sleep. Simply moving the touch pad turns the monitor back on. I can still hear the computer running. Anyone have any ideas? I've checked all the settings in the control panel.

Some program may be continuously running, one possible cause. Check task manager.

my laptop does the same thing sometimes, i ususaly just shut it down completly, isnt like im missing out on anything with the exra minute of startup time. do you do anything after you set it for sleepmode like click off the wireless switch? my guess is that might be doing it. try shutting off the wifi switch before sleep and close any programs that have any automatic procces, like internet explorer popping up saying connection lost. thoes are my guesses, idk if they will help
