    How much ram can I put in a P7811FX
    8GB? 16?

    The GM/PM45 chipset can address upto 8GB.
    4GB DDR3 modules are available as OEM/Bulk atm, so you'll have to wait a bit, and also checkout if the BIOS supports >4GB.

    you can find 4gb sticks on ebay but most are brand specific (for apples or lenovo's or inspirons etc). I didn't know there was brand specific ram actually...

    We had a discussion about this in another thread. The 7811FX is supposed to be able to take up to 8 gigs of ram, while my version, 6831FX, on the older platform, tops out at 4gb's. At least that's what Everest tells us.
