OK... Everything else is awesome about my P-7915u except I just tried to test out Team Fortress 2. Now, I just wanted to see what my FPS looked like while dinking around a bit. Unfortunately, I found that there seems to be about a half second delay in the touchpad if I touch any key on the keyboard which really makes playing difficult. Now, I haven't tried my Logitech G5 on here, yet (I will), but I was wondering if anybody else has come across this so far.

Its probably just the touchad... they have gotten horrible, and except for wacom and their professional pen/touch tablets they are all pretty crappy.

Even my M17x has a pretty subpar touchpad... the one on my 6860 is much smoother to use and i paid less than half for the 6860 (but even teh 6860's is nothing to really brag about as far as responsiveness goes)

Its pretty much better to always use a mouse unless you are just doing simple work

I'm thinking it's actually a Windows 7 feature. I've read all over the 'Net about a program to add a feature like that so you don't accidentally click on something while typing. It's perfectly consistent every time I've tried testing it. There's the same length pause every time I hit a key.

Besides, isn't the touchpad on the 79xx the same as the ones on the earlier P-series laptops?

That might be the case then... it's been irritating me but i've been using Win7 so long that i just chalked it up to crappy touch pads... i never even though about it being a win7 feature.

I'll have to try it out (reinstalling Vista on the 6860 before i sale, so that will give me a good time to try it out)

Yes, please let me know what you turn up. I'll keep searching for a way to turn it off in the meantime, unless somebody else here has the solution.

    AH HA!!!

Nevermind on that thing about the touchpad not working while typing. The PalmCheck option was doing it. I brought that option down one notch from the default setting and the touchpad works fine, now. :D

Seems that way. One notch down fixed the issue. I even tested by setting it back to default and it behaved the same way. Now it's all good. I haven't had a chance to try TF2 again, though, since I had to cook dinner. LOL
