I've never seen this done with a laptop before, so it may not be possible, but...

Is there a way to hook up 2-3 19-20" monitors to my Gateway 6860FX? This might really help with productivity for things like web design and as a perk, would be awesome for gaming (assuming the graphics card could do all that rendering).

    Any idea's?

    Thanks in advance,

    Nathand

No one has done this? Would it help if I bought a docking station or something?

yes it can be done. couple months ago when I bought my 6831fx, I did a search on youtube for the 6831fx and stumbled upon a video of a guy displaying his new 6831fx with an external monitor and dragging multiple windows from laptop screen to his external display(looked like a 19'' LCD). remember, 6860 and 6831 are almost exactly the same cept for ram/hdd/64OS

There are a couple downsides to using that product. For one, it acts like the three monitors are one monitor, which kind of stinks. It also doesn't support very high resolutions.

Well, in lack of a better solution, I think I'll try using the HDMI and analog monitor ports in addition to the laptop screen to make 3 screens. Not what I was hoping for, but I guess what I wanted isn't really possible with a laptop.

Time to invest in a new desktop, lol.

cant see how you will pull out 3 displays with that

but, let us know how it all worked out, that is if you try that hdmi, vga and default display thing.
