Just wanted to say hi to everyone here.

I just posted about my experience with Gateway and my furstrations trying to get my issues resolved.

I am hoping you gurus of the notebook wars will have some suggestions for me in seeking resolution to my issues.

WHere do you go to get support when the Executive Offices just says to you, "send it in and we'll fix it for you."

I've done that once and been enormously frustrated and unsuccessful.

Sell it on Ebay and buy an IBM?

No, seriously. Get the name of the "Executive" and when you send it make sure that the "Executive" signs for it with a return receipt. Keep copies of your email responsdence and take names, dates and times with whom you have spoken. You can contact the Better Business Bureau if your issues are not resolved.

    Scott --
I think the best thing you can do is to file a "disputed charge" with your credit card company. I use American Express for all my major purchases and if something like this happened, they would remove the purchase from my card. Then I'd ship the darn notebook back and go buy the one I want. BTW, I have a 7422GX and love it... I finally learned to forget the phone Gateway service and go straight to BestBuy where I had purchased a three year contract. There on site service for Gateway retail laptops (which is what you have) is incredibly good.

Thanks for the suggestions. . . sorta been there done that<g>.

I have actually complained to the BBB online, also have all details about every conversation with Gateway. . . names, badge numbers, etc.

We actually purchased it along with a 3 year service contract with FutureShop (now BestBuy) and put it on our account there

My greatest concern is sending it in for servicing again, with it being gone for a serious period of time again. It could come back broken again<sigh>

I'm wondering if there are any other sites where I can complain and spread the word

    thanks again
