p7805u, win7 64-bit and latest nvidia drivers.
Suddenly, my Nvidia decides to crap out on me. I mean, it opens fine, but it doesn't apply changes, even after hitting the apply button. Both in Global and game-specific. Within the control panel, my changes save. They do not go back to default. again, it doesn't apply my settings.
Ive properly reinstalled the display driver and still have this issue.
Anybody knows whats up?
EDIT - I tried using the search feature but only ended up with invalid search query.
/shrugs shoulders =\

Have you tried DIFFERENT drivers?
Even resolution won't apply? -

I didn't mean non-nvidia drivers, I meant a different version (Older releases)
What exact settings are you trying to change that aren't changing? -
Im trying to apply AA 8x and AF 8x to my games. I had the same issue with the prior version of the latest drivers.

I'm using 186.03 drivers from nvidia's website on a 7811-fx.
I can change global 3d settings just fine, but program-specific profiles do absolutely nothing. It's been this way since the drivers that came with the laptop. -
I havn't had that issue but I do know that it seems to not want to change the refresh rate of the screen. It is stuck on 59hz for some reason. However that seems to be more of an OS limitation than an nvidia issue since I can't change it through the old display properties either.

My resolution is set to 1440x900@59hz but it won't let me set it to 60hz instead. This also applies to my TV which is 1080p native. When I connect to it via HDMI it shows 1080p and 1080p24 for HD choices. Whenever I choose 1080p24 it always just goes to 1080p afterwards so it isn't changing the setting from 59hz to 24hz. Yes the TV does support 1080p @ 24hz on HDMI. In fact that is the only place it supports it.
EDIT: For people who see this in the future. I just figured out that when I connect my external LCD and change the refresh rate through the "Change Resolution" section that it actually does update. I know because I set it on 30hz and was getting really bad screen judder (bad flicker). I also set it on 24hz successfully and verified it by going back and listing the HD modes. I found it set on 1080p24. So the external does support other refresh rates but it seems the screen built into my laptop is what I mentioned above and doesn't run at 60hz. Oh well.
My Nvidia control panel doesnt apply settings..
