My wireless connection has mysterious disappeared. It was working find before without any issue and I have no clue on what is causing it not to work. I Try resetting my linksys wireless router WRT54GS power down and unplug my cable modem and still does not work. Formatted my laptop and install a fresh copy of vista home premium 32 bit and still does not establish wireless connection. Hook up my lan cable and got all the windows updates everything install with out a hitch. Restarted my computer login back in and made sure the wireless button was turn on and it was see the blue tooth icon and two computer monitor icon appears in the task bar. Went to control panel double click on network and sharing center icon and then click manage network connection and made sure the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN icon was not on disable and still to no avail I am still not able to get wireless connection. It was working before and now it doesn't work at all there is no error in the device manager icon every preferential check out ok. I can connect through lan cable without any issue just wireless part is getting too me. What puzzle me is that it was working before just find and now it does work at all. It kind of strange my second HP Pavilion dv6700z laptop work out without any problems at all.

I starting to think that my Linksys Wireless rounter WRT54GS is starting to have problems. Did a firmware upgrade to see if that would fix the issue and it does nothing to cure my problem with my gateway P-6831FX. I am guessing I think I should try buying a different wireless router. Try to call gateway for support but they just give me the run around lope with not ideal to help me figure out my wireless problem.

Anyone have any suggestion or other ideas that I should try.??

This may be silly but your wireless switch is ON and you show the wireless icon on the touch pad? Sorry, missed the part where you had the switch on.

I have exact same setup with no problems other than Charter..

If you set address to 192.168.1.1, can you see the WRT54? You may want to check all with all security switches off until connection is made.

If your HP works then wireless should be fine?

Have you tried to connect to another wifi network. Bring your Fx to Starbucks or somewhere with free wifi and see if it see's the wireless network. If it does'nt then the problem might just be hardware involved (your wireless radio). You could also try uninstalling you wireless driver and installing just the windows generic wifi driver. You can fin it on the Gateway Drivers and support page. If it doesn't see any wireless networks, You should call Gateway or the BB depending on where you got it.

I think I will take my laptop to starbucks to see if it pick up the wireless there. If does then that will answer my question.

I feel dumb and stupid all this time I been busting my brain out to figure out what was wrong with my wireless connection laptop. It turns out that all this time I forgot to turn on the function+F2 key to turn on the wireless signal. Man do I feel freaking stupid.
