The replacement to the Best Buy exclusive MX6650 has arrived (not on display yet) It is in the same stylish case as the P-M 750, but features my person favorite feature of the model... an AMD Turion 64 ML-37 (2.0ghz), 1 gig ddr, 100gig hdd, media center ed, x200 graphics, double layer dvd, etc. retail is 1199.99 so im guessing when they put this guy on sale its gonna be a sweet 1049 or cheaper. Seems like a pretty capable system. Heres the link to the mx6650 which looks identical. I cant remember the model number to the new one it may be like mx6455 or 6544 cant remember but ill update later, along with any more new gateway systems i feel are post-worthy.

    Good find.
About what does the Turion ML-37 compete with? Just curious.

Its gonna be on par with a p-m 760 (2.0) Someone had a link to a battery test with a 760 and an ML 37 that showed them neck to neck, in case you were wondering. One thing iv mentioned i know on the hp forum on here is important to keep in mind. A big advantage of amd 64 is the integrated memory controller. AMD ML=35w, p-m is 27w. You have to consider that the 35w ML includes TDP for the on-die memory controller. Since the P-m's memory controller is on the chipset, not the die, that TDP isnt being counted. When Powernow!/speedstep tech is enabled, the 800mhz on the turion will be faster than 800mhz on the p-m due to higher system bus/bandwidth from the memory controller. The 2 meg cache on the p-m is nice, but id take the memory controller any day.. and i did >>
