    Hey there,

I was given a NV52 to look at, but I am kinda getting stuck.
I have been given no history to this computer, so I kinda have to fish in the blue.
The Laptop doesn't want to boot up. If the Power Switch is turned on, the Battery indicator stays blue, but the Screen is keeping its solid black. It won't even go into POST BIOS. So hitting F8, F2 or DEL won't change nothing.
There is also no Startup Beep or anything. The Fan goes on for a couple of second and then turns dead silent.

So far I tried to remove the RAM and try it with other Sticks, no change in behavior. Also I cannot get an output signal on an external Monitor.
What i think it could be, is that the GPU went down and out and the Motherboard has to be replaced - Is this correct, or is there anything else I can do?

    Thanks guys.

Not familiar with the model but; What you describe sounds like it could be the CPU itself. Theexternal signal usually will not be default get a signal. It could be the GPU as well but with no history of what happened to brgin with it is a toss in the hat.

One thing to try is resetting the CMOS. You may need to find the battery and unplug it and without AC power or the regular battery press the power button for 30 seconds to clear it.

I would check to see how the thermal paste for both the CPU and GPU as they both use the same cooling unit and redo the thermal paste on both and see if they will power back up.

if it wont post bios try resetting the cmos by taking the
battery out bridge the pos and neg pin to reset this is old
way of clearing cmos , also check bat to see if it still is good .

that's about all you can do if there is no bios
make sure you are hitting the right key to
    get to bios setup .

I am having the same exact issue. I had ordered a replacement board off of ebay and the replacement was doing the same thing, so I RMA'ed the board and the next one is still doing the same thing. At this point I don't think it is the motherboard, but it could still be. I am thinking about buying a replacement CPU for $14 on ebay, but I don't know if I would be wasting my time.

When I try external display I get nothing, but will the NV52 even output to external display right away, or does it wait till it loads windows?

Also, if I remove all the RAM and turn it on I don't get any error beeps, but again, I am not sure if the NV52 will give a beep code.

Quantaqa, or someone else with a NV52, could you verify this for me with your working computer?

    Thanks

So did you properly use thermal paste to ensure a proper seal?? And no RAM will definitely give error beeps. And what CPU are you using?
