Is my motherboard fried? Power LEDs respond (battery and power), but not activity/indicator lights.
I recently bought a new power adapter since the old one was loose / worn out. Now that this happened I was about to replace the DC power jack when I realized that the battery is fully charged, so that can't be it, right?
- Tried an external monitor (monitor powers on but no post or beep)
- Did a power cycle probably 50 times
- Removed CMOS battery
- Removed HDD, CDD, switched out RAM
- Booted on battery power alone
Anything I can do now besides replacing the motherboard? If I do replace it, is there a possibility that won't fix the problem? I'd love to be able to get it running again, even if it costs $120 or so.
Thanks for any help, this is a great quality community and has made up for the failings of Gateway support.
NV53 powers up, won't post, no activity lights
