I have a NV59C57u with the discrete HD5470 card inside. As this is my daughter's computer, I was not completely aware of any problems until it was brought to mw with a broken LCD screen. I had that screen replaced. I found out through doing Windows update it has a tendency to white screen fade out or white vertical line display. I ran the DXDiag, and Windows Mem Diag with no found problems.
It seems to happen alot with the sleep/hibernation mode on the laptop also which if i catch in time seems to clear up for a small amount of time. Can anyone give me a direction to look for as with my wife's recent cancer operation leaving her on bed rest for a while I have need to get this fixed ASAP.
    Thanks so much in advance

You didn't tell us how that screen was broken. If your daughter dropped that laptop computer then there may be other issues not fixable.

Thank you for your response. The computer was dropped about 1 1/2 years ago by my autistic granddaughter, but everything seemsed to work ok with the exception of a piece of upper case that crack and eventually fell off..its at the upper right corner. However the screen did not act up after that and I have no knowledge of when the LCD became broken. It is possible that the cable to the motherboard is/was loosened when they replaced the screen?( I don't know much about the replacement process). Just looking for a direction before I take it to the service center and let them run amuck.

The screen being broken could be from another fall. This could be the root of your issues.................
