    Hi folks.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on the NV7915u available at best buy. My only concern is that some of the reviews I've read mention the mouse button is annoying/non-intuitive.

Is that the case, or is it something that's easy to get accustomed to?

    Thanks!

which mouse button are you referring - left or right? or do you mean the touchpad itself?

i personally have had no problems using the touchpad especially with the latest Scrybe software and synpatics drivers installed on it. Very intuitive IMO.

I'm referring to the mouse buttons; I've read that they aren't separate buttons, but instead more of a rocker switch. Is that inaccurate?

    Thanks.

on the 7805u (as far as i can tell), they are two seperate buttons.

My bad - I thought the two models shared the same keyboard/touchpad layout.

On an NV79 I worked on I didn't have any complaints about the mouse bar. It worked better than the mouse bar on my current laptop, that's for sure. Don't let that stop you from buying one if it's the only negative you can see. You can try one out if you go to Best Buy, I think they carry it.
I would recommend a fresh install of Windows 7 when you get it as the pre-loaded Gateway software slows down the system. Thats all.

I purchased the NV7915u. It is being delivered today.

Can the Gateway bloatware be removed, or is it better to just reinstall the OS?

You can remove most of it I think. Some of it can give you trouble which is why the client gave it to me for a fresh install. It ran great after I put Windows back on. Before it was having a lot of trouble and some error messages too. Yours might not be a problem. Enjoy your new toy :)

I've decided to remove the bloatware. I don't see anything chewing up cycles, and the system tray is clean, so I think it's ok...

the mouse bar is ok, but im still used to regular buttons.
and as for that bloatware....you only need to remove norton and that will kill about 90 percent of your problems.
and when your ready to upgrade to a i5-430...i have one of those handy.. :D
