Hey guys, just want to say thanks for the information in this forum on Gateway. Im currently a student in college and was looking information on what new laptop to get, looking at website reviews and what not doing my part to make a informed decision in purchasing a new notebook. I currently own a Dell Notebook, Inspiron 8200 and a old Gateway desktop.

From all the good comments and suggestions here I decided to order the Gateway NX250X (M250 model). :) Heres my specs:

    1008589 Gateway NX250X
    3401842 M250/NX250 Systemboard w/ UMA, 915GM & IEEE1394 1
    3400427 Intel Pentium M Processor 750 (1.86GHz, 533MHz FSB, 2MB L2) 1
    3401876 1024MB 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM (2-512MB modules) 1

3400687 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (SP2) 1
1533237 Microsoft Works 8.0 1 (Got Office XP at home already)
3402302 Consumer Warranty Documentation - w/90Day std limited wty 1
    1533586 C-ValuePln 3yr Parts/Labor/No Onsite/TollTechSup-MBMid90Day 1

I got 2 questions though, I know that Windows Vista is set to be released next year, from looking at the current specs, do you think this configuration will be able to run Vista? I know that the video card is intergrated, but will I be able to run it normally from what we all know now about Vista?

Also, I ordered it through the phone, I asked for free shipping and got it (Thanks Dewey!) :gateway: I ordered this week 10/04/2005, Its been in "Order Processing" for a day now...does it usually take that long? I got a ETA on my system of 10/20/2005. Hope it comes in earlier. :p Being exciting about new toys is always fun haha

I opted to not get the Ultrabright...did I make a wrong decision on that? Thanks!

Vista will run on 32 bit. You may not get all the eye candy with the integraded card.
