    So, what exactly am I looking for when I shop around for a BRplayer? And I saw something about needing PowerDVD to play Blu-Ray movies. Reagardless, anyone actually upgraded it or know what's available in the market that will work with my laptop?

    I ordered mine off Ebay for $70 bucks. You don't need Powerdvd, you just need a program that will play the Blu Ray. i already own Total Media Theatre and use that to play blu rays. Just do a search on Ebay. Many others on this forum have gotten their's the same way and all seem satisfied.
