    First post.

I'm looking for a notebook for around $500 with a Core 2 Duo, 2gb of Ram, at least 100gig of harddrive space, and no bigger then a 15.4 inch screen. It will be used for Phd research, light gaming "WOW, Diablo 3", movies, music, and internet.

$530 bucks buys me a factory refurbished M-152s on ebay but am having a hard time finding info and reviews on this model.

    Is this a good choice?

I have a M-152XL and it does great for me. My only problems are windows based...

But I am not sure that is worth it since its a refurbished.

For a refurbished unit, the price seems a little high. and its insanely high, when compared to the Best Buy M-6862 deal.

I did not see the Gateway M-6862 on the best buy site. How much is it?

Its sold out - it was a clearance item.

Some people picked it up for as low as $325.
