    basically the old died and need help choosing a new one that will fit. im a noob when it comes to hard drives so if someone can choose one on bestbuy that will work ill be much appreciated

    I don't think best buy is the place to buy laptop hard drives. Any standard 2.5" SATA or SATA II drive will work. There are 1TB laptop drives that are 2.5" but are thicker so stay away from those. The stock hard drive is a Hitachi 7K320. I don't know about the hard drive market but a Hitachi 7K500 would be a good drive. You can use Tom's Hardware Charts ( Performance Charts - Tom's Hardware) (-would find the exact link but the website is timing out on me) to compare specs.

    good looking out. i didnt see any 2.5" laptop HDD on their website. i guess ill have to order online.

    My P7805 came with a 320GB WD Black stock. Now for a replacement it counts on your budget. For primary drives the top 3 would be in order, Seagate Momentus XT, WD 500GB Black and then the Travelstar 7K500...............
