Firstly, let me say I did a very stupid thing. Somehow I got a virus on my laptop that affected one of my DLL programs and it caused the computer to run very slowly. I tried to get rid of it and I did but it didn't fix the slowness. I tried to roll the computer back to a previous date and it still didn't work so I popped open the cd/dvd drive and used the Windows Vista 64-bit recovery disk that came with the laptop.
Unfortunately I never made any backup for the drivers that came with the computer and because of this I can not connect to any sort of internet to try and get my laptop back to the way it should be. If I could just locate some sort of 64-bit drivers for this laptop that will allow me to connect to the internet I would have no problems finding the rest of the drivers to get me back on my feet but right now I can not find any sort of networks, even Wi-Fi. I may have to bring my laptop to my friends house some day next week and use his plug to direct connect to a wired connection but I would love to be able to fix this without having to go to him.
Is it at all possible somebody could point me in the right direction? The Gateway site itself lists a lot of 32bit drivers so those aren't right for me. I just need to be able to get onto the net from the laptop and all else will fall into place. Is there any hope for me to save my laptop and restore it to its original glory, or am I screwed? Thank you in advance for any assistance, I am terribly embarrassed and ashamed.
