I've read the other thread(s) on this forum with similar issues, but I have not seen a solution yet. The other thread indicated that this laptop does not support an audio stream in the HDMI output, but I have not made complete sense of that yet. I purchased a Panasonic 50PZ77U and I'm trying to connect my gateway t-1620 via HDMI to the tv. The video looks great, however the audio keeps skipping from time to time. This happens with all audio to include dvds, windows media player, and mp3s. I tried updating the ATI radeon drivers, but they were already up to date. I called gateway tech support which was a complete waste of time. The only thing that I can think of is that the CPU can't handle the continuous audio stream. I noticed that when I pick up activity on the laptop (browsing, opening apps, etc) the audio seems to skip more. However, this also happens when the laptop is just sitting idle. Someone mentioned in another thread that this laptop doesn't support audio in HDMI. THe reason I disagree is that I'm getting audio on the tv, it's just choppy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would think that the Panasonic 50PZ77U HDTV with two HDMI ports is capable of supporting an HDMI connection from the laptop. Could you please expand on what you mean by this? Thanks.

well, i am not familiar with ur panasonic; but on my so called HDMI capable lcd-tv, i had to use another audio (analog) input or to switch off HDMI mode on my lcd-tv all together. Sound sometimes skipped (as i ur case) and sometimes NO sound altogether. Review ur panasonic manual on this.

    cheers ...

Hmm, very interesting. And here I thought it was the laptop. Is there any way you were able to connect the analog audio without using a receiver? I don't have a receiver yet, and I don't think I can hook up the audio to a different input and the HDMI at the same time? Thoughts? THanks.

hey if you figure this out pm me. i havent been able to get it working either (as you can see from other thread) i gave up on it because the only answer i was getting back was "it doesnt support an audio stream" which you now understand it does, i just gave up and bought a 7ft spdif cable at walmart for like 5 dollars. they are by the headphones. but yea i still cant get it but im working on it. qhn you make an intresting point because now that i think of it i have my dvd player plugged up with spdif because the audio on the hdmi wasnt working for that either, maybe it is my tv. if it is i will make sure to go and get an extended warrenty or some money back from BB for not telling me about it :). i ended up spending 4k on a home theater and i want all to work seemlessly which it isnt right now.... note to self dont get lazy, do your own research, just because you know the sales person doesnt mean he wont sell you the expensive stuff.
