    I have a Gateway M2623-U Laptop.

Gateway Support - M-2623u Notebook Specifications

Anyway. I believe that my GPU is fried. For a while it would just shut off and I would have to reboot after it cooled. Even tho all the fans were working and it was clean it still kept shutting down.

Anyway. finally shut down and wouldnt reboot.

So I guess I am just going to replace the motherboard but I cant find one.

    The numbers on it are

    HannStar J MV-4 94V-0 0833

Ive googled that and looked everywhere I can.

Also if anyone else has any ideas of other ways to fix/troubleshoot, I'm all ears.

I have tried external monitors, reseating RAM and CPU, new paste.

    Here is what it does

Have you taken apart the cpu cooler and cleaned off the cpu and gpu chip thermal paste and reapplied new thermal paste to see if the new thermal paste helps. I know my NV52 was shutting down when it got hot and when I took off the cooling unit and reapplied the thermal paste my system runs good now. Give that a try.

I have the same laptop, Gateway M-2623-u and is doing the same thing. The three LED lights at the bottom of the trackpad are all stuck on. I've found similar Gateway laptops to have this same "Three LED Doom" happen to their laptops, which ends up being that a motherboard replacement fixed it. It could have something to do with the GPU controller which is what is fried and preventing the board from it's POST. I've felt the CPU while booting and used a thermal IR device to detect the temperature, and in fact, was getting warm. Indicating to me that the board itself, along with the CPU, were both working. However, the GPU does not display post and everything freezes before that point. I'm not sure if one could even find a GPU replacement for this board. I have only found one site which says they carry this type of board.

GATEWAY M-2623u Motherboard (System Board) Replacement

    $225 as of right now.

Hope this helps. I'll update changes if I come across anything else.
