I just installed xp on my 7811 and so far I'm falling back in love with it again. I've ran into a brick wall though. I've got all my devices installed except for sound and my dial up modem. The modem wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't my only way to have internet at home. I followed the guide for sound but when i tried to install the driver it kept popping up with an error saying it couldnt find the media device, and for the modem there isn't even and unknown modem device in my devince manager. There are just 3 unknown devices. What should I do?

Nevermind, I somehow managed to get it to work. For some reason when you try to install HD audio drivers on SP3 it wont let you. I had to extract the exe and install the files myself. for some reason the modem is part of the HD audio drivers so it fixed that too. Now if only I could find the driver for the "Äudio device on HD audio bus driver", which is probably the mic...
