    Hey all,

First post on here and I will say first off, I know nothing about upgrading a Laptop. I have read about people upgrading the T5550 that comes in this thing from Gateway. I was thinking about a T9300 or T9400 from newegg, but how do you install it? Is it something that is easy enough if you follow instructions or do I just buy the processor and hand it off to a laptop guy who comes highly recomended to me and have him do it? TIA.

Thanks! I think I may make a mistake by trying it myself, do you think a T9400 would work as well as a T9300?

IMO its not worth the price different, the difference is so marginal, and correct me if i'm wrong but the t9300 is the coolest (temperature) running laptop processor in its speed range. I'd say go with the t9300 as I plan to do, if you can find a nice price on ebay go for it, if not Newegg has it for $324.99.

    take it out
check all the pins are intact
try the old cpu again, if it works and the 9300 doesn't (second time) send it back as doa.
