Edit: Ha just realized I spelled educate wrong..how ironic!
So I have had the original Vista 64 SP1 since I have purchased the 7805. I have had my automatic updates set to download but ask to install any updates (bc I am very particular to what is installed on my laptop). I have installed every update that has come my way EXCEPT for IE 8 (which I do not want) and SP2. I currently run SP1 with all the updates available to date and I have always been under the impression to not fix something if it is not broke. I have had bad past experiences with a previous laptop and drivers and always trying to get the “best” etc. and my system crashing. My current 7805 has never crashed nor given me issue and I think partially bc I am not trying to update and makes things “better”. I guess my reason for the post is for someone to tell me I’m wrong and persuade me to update to SP2. I have read on this forum regarding many issues and incompatibilities after this Service Pack update. Is it really that much of a benefit to update to SP2 anyway? I have waited this long and my current SP1 setup is running fine. Thanks!
Oh and I see that people are running Windows 7 on these 7805’s. I would LOVE to do that if I had the money for it and had the confidence it would be 100% compatible without me having to tweak for a month. Am I wrong in thinking this?
Last question, where do I check to make sure my powermizer is off.
Thanks everyone!

Regarding SP2, the only thing I can say is that it has not given me any problems across the 3-4 Vista computers I've installed it on (both laptops and desktops).
I installed it because it was supposed to be more efficient with memory management (or something to that effect).
Need someone to eduate me -7805
