    Hi all,
I have a netbook that I'd like to add a bigger hard drive to. The computer didn't come with an OS CD. The current OS running on the machine is windows 7. Is there any way to mirror/copy the OS to a flash drive so I can load into onto the new hard drive? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

You can reinstall windows 7 using a flash drive.

try backup and restore under maintenance in the start menu. If you want a non-windows solution, try Easus Todo backup. Both work, but I think todo backup has more features.

If you're just trying to clone the hard drive, you could use xxclone, but you'd need a certain kind of setup and the knowledge to pull that off.

The great thing is, you leave your system as is on the old hard drive and if the new hard drive doesn't work right the first time, you can just put the old one back in. Still working netbook then.

I hope someone comes along and gives you the solution you need if mine doesn't suit you.
