Okay, I know that this was addressed before , and I searched about 20 pages worth of results looking for the answer. I have a newly purchased Wireless N router Netgear WNR834. And no matter where I put the power settings I cannot seem to get anything past 65mbps on a router that is capable of 200+ , Only want the higher speed as me and my wife transfer files back and forth alot and the extra speed ona 8-10gig file would be helpful. Any and all suggestions would be wonderful.

    Thank you all,
    Alitronic

Power isn't the problem - it's either your adapter or you Router's Mode setting that are the likely causes.

It doesn't make any difference what your Router speed is - your network speed is determined by the slowest device, whether it's an adapter or a Router. 65mbps is pretty slow, so if your adapters are both N adapters then you need to check your Wireless Mode setting on your Router and see if it's set to N. If it is, then set it to Mixed; if it's set to Mixed and you're having the problem, set it to N - it's either one or the other. Mixed is usually the option if your adapters are mixed wireless capable - AGN, etc.

Don't forget settings like NAT, and using Quality of Service settings to increase your throughput speed will also have an effect.

It is the settings most likely. Be sure WPA or WPA-2 is enabled and go to the computers network settings to be sure dual band is enabled.

Try the cable connect and see. Wifi connections are hit and miss, no matter what settings you have. And your current 65mbps is quite good.

    cheers ...

The Intel 5100 card in the P-7805u is at 150mbps on mine, check your security setting too, use WPA2-Personal and AES. Also set your router to N only like suggested above. On your 5100 AGN settings in Advanced tab make sure the top two box's are on auto too.
