Hey guys, I'm new to this site and this laptop. I've been browsing over these forums for the past few days and I cant seem to find a current post about some of the things that I'm looking for.

Is the fan on my left side supposed to pulse? It doesn't bother me just making sure it is a normal thing.

What is the latest and CURRENT Bios for my laptop?

The only issue I've had thus far is my clock speeds on my GPU changing. I used the riva tuner fix and it went away. I know many of these questions may seem over asked but some help and pointers would always be nice.

For further information I am using the latest drivers from nVidia (that aren't in beta) and running Windows 7 64 bit. Thanks!

9C.17 is the latest BIOS. Fan on the left side is for the GPU. If you think its too loud for your comfort then try undervolting GPU. You can find a thread about that here.

Well, my BIOS is the .17, I'm just trying to make sure the pulsing is normal. If it is then I'm good to go.

If by pulsing you mean speed up periodically for like 5 seconds and spin down again, mine does the same thing.

yeah the pulsing is normal but you can pretty much get rid of the pulsing completely if you replace the thermal paste and undervolt the gpu. my gpu undervolted to .9v only reaches 68c maximum running a 10 min occt gpu test. it idles between 40 and 45c
