Hey guys I was thinking about upgrading my p6831fx but now that I see the new fx series is out I am wondering if it would just be smarter to go with a newer one?

Which FX is the best bang for the buck? I was thinking about buying a lower end model and then just upgrading it.

Few questions though, do any of the new fx series come with 1920x1200 screens? I hook my laptop up to my 55inch plasma all the time and would love to have something larger then the 1440x900 resolution that I currently have.

So, which model do you guys recommend, I am looking to order within the next week or two, thanks.

The 7811 comes with that resolution.... I don't believe any other current or past models do.

7801 was the only other official model that had 1920x1200, the 1st 7805 buyers got lucky and got 1920x1200 while others got the 1440x900.

No more 1080p. The 7915 at Best Buy is the cheapest. Aboot (lawl) $1000, ready to be upgraded. Good luck! :D

having gotten used to that 1920x1200 res being on a computer with less than that really bugs me.

If you are going to hook it up to your plasma most of the time then why does the native res matter?

I play games on the lappy and do work on there too so having a larger screen is nice. The 1440x900 is not a problem by any means, but the larger the res the better for me. I guess I kinda worded that wrong, I don't want the larger res just for the tv, but I want it for work/gaming/etc.

So which model do you guys recommend I go with? I was thinking about getting the one from bestbuy and then upgrading it. I really just want something with the new 260's in them, I am so excited to get one =D.

Also one more quick question, what do you think I can get for my current 6831fx? It's 100% stock and in great condition. If I could get like 500 for it I would be stoaked! Let me know boys, thanks.

Prolly. Don't know too much about earlier FXs but the 7805 goes (went) for about $850-ish refurbished last time I checked (at TigerDirect...a while ago)

Oh yeah, if you get a new one, go with the 7915 :D

I'm pretty sure I am going to list up my p6831-fx tonight and see if it sells. If it does I will go to bestbuy and grab the 7915. Keep an eye out for me on some refurbished deals though guys, thanks :)

Yeah, that's the only difference. And the 7915 is online only, so you have to order it on their website, or call the store and have them get one for ya.
