The point they're getting at isn't related to software and drivers, but the fact that if you run into any hardware issues of any kind, you're out of luck.
You mention that one of the reasons this seems like a great deal is because of the price. You're only taking the initial purchase into consideration. Now given, some people may buy a laptop and use it for years and never experience a single issue. But what if something DOES go wrong?
Sure you might be able to get warranty work if you're willing to ship the laptop to them, but then you're paying for insured international shipping both ways (I can't imagine they'd foot any of that bill).
If you just have a dead hard drive or defective ram, that's easy and mostly inexpensive to replace. But what if the CPU dies? Expensive, but probably user replaceable. What about the GPU? If it's soldered to the motherboard, then you have to try to replace the whole motherboard. I can't imagine that's cheap.
With all of those costs in mind, wouldn't it just be easier to spend a little extra and get a Clevo based laptop (Sager, Eurocom, Prostar)?
