I went into my local Best Buy today and I noticed that the 7805 was no longer on display, the sales tag was completely gone, and the cage was completely empty underneath where it once was. Only one of the 6 Best Buy's in my area show stock, and Best Buy's website now says "Limited Availability" for in-store availability.
I know the 7805 has been out since January, but is it that time already for the 7805 to disappear and a new model take its place at Best Buy?

It would be, but there's nothing really "new" for them to release into the new machine yet.
I guess they could bring a quad with a 160m/260m in it (which would be AMAZING) but i figured they would wait for Capella for a new machine. Save them money clearing out their older stock so they can bring us another great laptop with the near top line newest tech -
Personally, I would love it if they threw a 260 GTX in there. I don't there is any way that they would put a 280 in there, only because of cost. For me, the graphics chip is the only thing I would seriously care about as far as them upgrading it is concerned.
A Blu-Ray drive wouldn't be bad either. -
Gateway FX series Blu-ray drive installation.
Oh, and this thread,, too. -
Yeah, I know. I've just been to lazy to do it.

Man - if one is coming out, I wish it would already... I am getting funds within the next week to be able to purchase a new laptop and I have been eyeing the 7805u for a while now.

Maybe they are giving bestbuy the 7801 or 7808?
New Gateway FX on it's way to Best Buy soon?
